Workshop – Requirements for a Digital Materials and Product Passport (DMPP) for Composites in Stuttgart February 18, 2025

CU_WG_Meeti_Febr_25

By many, the DMPP concept is seen as an essential tool to carry information along the value chain to enhance and simplify the circularity of products, e.g., through simpler reuse or recycling. In addition, a better availability of information can foster the overall innovation process. With the entry into force of the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) of the European Commission in July 2024, the topic has gained a lot of visibility and momentum. The DigiPass project as a coordination and support action project (CSA) is an important building block in the design of its implementation to define the details and specifics of a digital product passport for the composites industry.
In this light, this workshop is an important instrument to collect the requirements and demands of industry towards a DMPP. How should a DMPP look like from an industry point of view? Which information can be included, which must be protected? How can the relevant IP be protected efficiently? Who should operate a DMPP?
Join us on February 18 in Stuttgart to bring in your thoughts and requirements and help us define the relevant concepts and shape future regulations! CU in Stuttgart! read more

Requirements for a Digital Materials and Product Passport (DMPP) for the Prepainted Metals Supply Chain to the Construction Market

ECCA 6_March_25

In this workshop, organised by ECCA and the DigiPass project consortium, we want to collect and integrate requirements from industry and academia for a Digital Materials and Product Passport (DMPP) for the prepainted metal supply chain to the construction market. The DMPP concept is seen as an essential tool to transfer information along the supply chain and to enhance and simplify the circularity of these products. The DMPP will also support the automation of this information transfer and create an essential input into other software, such as Building Information Modelling, used within the construction market.

Following the implementation of the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) of the European Commission in July 2024, the topic has become increasingly important and the DMPP is seen as a key enabler of this new legislation.
The DigiPass project, as a coordination and support action project (CSA), is an important building block supporting the design and implementation of the DMPP as it will facilitate the definition of the content of the passport for the prepainted metals sold to the construction market.
This workshop is an important event focused on collecting the needs and requirements of the industry towards a DMPP.
❖How should a DMPP look like from a prepainted metal perspective?
❖Which information should be included, which must be protected?
❖How will this information be transferred across all steps in the supply chain?
❖How can the relevant IP be protected efficiently?
❖Who should operate a DMPP?
These are questions that the workshop will try to answer.

Join us on March 6th in Brussels - bring your thoughts, requirements and ideas to help us define the relevant concepts for a DMPP and to shape future regulations! more information here (288 KB)

5th EMMC International Workshop

EMMC 2025 Logo

The EMMC 2025 International Workshop on the 7-10 April 2025 in Vienna will discuss advances and future directions in how both accelerated innovation and sustainability are supported by a Knowledge Ecosystem based on materials modelling and data integration.

In times of fundamental change and uncertainty, there is an increased sense of urgency in dealing with pressing issues related to climate change and sustainable use of resources, demanding accelerated scientific and technological advances that translate into industrial uptake and ensure industrial leadership.

Materials are at the core of every product and every process; advanced materials have delivered unforetold performance and product advances benefitting all sectors of life. On the other hand, materials are a finite and valuable resource, and their processing from mining or synthesis to re-cycling may be energy intensive.

Accelerating innovation in advanced materials and ensuring sustainability requires a step-change not only in materials research techniques such as advanced modelling and characterisation methods, but also in bringing together expertise and information (data with meaning) that meets the highly complex decisions that underly the innovation process and materials life cycle. Required are much improved, FAIR data integration, trust and transparency, fast, reliable and traceable decision systems, as well as sophisticated models.
