EXTREMENESS

Advisory Board

A scientific advisory board consisting of external experts and representatives of federal state authorities responsible for coastal protection will support the project and the research performed within EXTREMENESS. Presently the board comprises the following members:

  • Andreas Wurpts, Lower Saxony State Department for Waterways, Coastal and Nature Conservation
  • Jacobus Hofstede, Ministry of Energy, Agriculture, the Environment and Rural Areas
  • Frerk Jensen, Schleswig-Holstein Agency for Coastal Defence, National Park and Marine Conservation
  • Annette Ganske und Hartmut Heinrich, Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency

An essential part of EXTREMENESS will be the implementation of a Science-Stakeholder-Collaboration-Forum consisting of relevant regional actors involved in coastal protection and disaster risk management and reduction. The forum serves as a basis to mediate the needs of local communities for adaptation management and to incorporate these into the development of criteria for the assessment of measures. The implementation of this forum is presently in preparation.
