Since 2002, the coastal summer school is annually realized in cooperation of some of the leading national centers for coastal research in Germany: Alfred Wegener Institute Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research (AWI), Leibniz Institute for Baltic Research Warnemünde (IOW) and Helmholtz Centre Hereon.

The Summerschool 2025 is organised by Hereon.
