- 2016 – present Research Fellow of the Earth System Governance project (ESG)
- 2014 – 2018 PhD studies embedded into the international Future Earth Coasts project
- 2012 – Lead coordination and member of Technical Advisory Group (led by Prof. Dr. Joseph Alcamo, UNEP Chief Scientist) of the UNEP GEF International Waters Science Conference in Bangkok, Thailand (in collaboration with GEF, UNEP, UNDP, UN ESCAP)

Collaborations
Over the course of his career, Marcus Lange collaborated with partners from United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme (IGBP), the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP) and SustainaMetrix, and within networks, such as Future Earth, the Earth System Governance project and the Trilateral Wadden Sea Cooperation in Europe.
