Our Team
PatentPen is developed by a three-person team at the Helmholtz Center Hereon. The Hereon is part of the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centers, Germany's largest publicly funded research organization. The members of our team are Anna von Berg, Prof. Dr. Roland Aydin and Prof. Dr-Ing. Christian Cyron.
Anna von Berg
After graduating with a M.Sc. in Physics from the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, where she received one of the prestigious scholarships of the German National Academic Foundation, Anna von Berg worked in the laser industry before training as a patent attorney with RGTH Patentanwälte PartG mbB in Hamburg. She completed this training by first passing the German patent attorney examination with “fully satisfactory” and subsequently the European patent attorney examination (EQE). Since then, she has worked as a freelance patent attorney and as a scientist at the Helmholtz Center Hereon on the development of artificial intelligence methods for the patent system.
Prof. Dr. Roland Aydin / Prof. Dr.-Ing. Christian Cyron
Prof. Dr. Roland Aydin (Computer Science) and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Christian Cyron (Mechanical Engineering) both graduated from the Technical University of Munich at the top of their year with a grade of 1.0 and were supported during their studies by the German National Academic Foundation and various other scholarship organizations. They currently both work as professors at Hamburg University of Technology and at the Helmholtz Center Hereon with a research focus on artificial intelligence. Prof. Cyron is a member of the Think Tank of the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centers, whose members are involved in identifying the major future challenges in research and technology and proposing new ways to overcome them.
