Our Mission

Dynamic exchange

Icon_Dynamic_Exchange

Exchanges with Colombia are supported through technical and scientific workshops, transnational mobility of six researchers and reciprocal access to research infrastructures, mentoring of a PhD student, preparation of grant proposals and manuscripts, and mentoring of a bilateral pilot project. The two core institutions provide each other with key competencies required to carry out a successful research project in the field of enzyme technology in materials science.

Promotion of young scientists

MENZYPOL-NET will be coordinated by ESRs from both countries. The network will take responsibility for the training of at least one PhD student from Colombia. The female scientists in the network will act as role models for other junior scientists who wish to participate in the cluster. Further involvement of young scientists and researchers in the network will also be encouraged by supporting applications for fellowships from the Hereon's Graduate School and the DAAD. One of the strategic features of the network is to train the next generation of scientists who use natural resources responsibly and contribute to sustainable development in polymer science.

Long-term partnership

The network will work intensively on the development of long-term international cooperation projects. A PhD student will be accompanied by the project partners for the duration of his training in Colombia. The joint publications and conference presentations will increase the visibility of network and attract stakeholders for further partnerships.
