Goals

To ensure that the approaches and methods individually developed and applied in the model regions are not isolated, but can be merged and integrated, WIRKsam is divided into three building blocks.

First, WIRKsam will facilitate the exchange of information between model regions and connect the model regions to the cross-sectional projects. For this purpose, five working groups will be established and thematic workshops organized to provide forums for discussion for the regional projects. Thus, the generation of synergies will be facilitated.

The integration of results from the model regions is supported by accompanying scientific research conducted jointly by WIRKsam and the model regions. This research provides a guiding framework for joint reflections and creates important impulses for the synthesis of results. The jointly developed results on appropriate adaption approaches, measures and tools can then be adopted in other regions facing similar challenges.

Finally, the findings and results of the individual projects are then fed via external networking and outreach work into ongoing policy and strategy and effectively disseminated to the public.
